12th nov
venue: in stoke newington, london
times: 11 till late
price: £5
playing: tsr (don't/antikonsum/horspielmusik/invisible fish/chan n mikes/tonewrecker) + Jerome Hill (don’t/groove asylum) + bass invaders (live) + uglyfunk residents
Fredrik Askebris, Robert Sundelin, Tomas Nordstrom
++guest info
The story of tsr begins in the early 90's in a little concrete suburb called rissne. In this piece of concrete land three youngsters grew up getting to know each other.
They all share a common interrest in things such as video & computer games, zombie movies, music, the obscure and other nerdy things...
After a lot of coffee drinking and boredom they get in touch with the music of umek, neil landstrumm, vogel and locals like cari lekebusch, dj lenk and tomas krome.
Otto, otto and otto is already making music on amiga trackers and later on with fasttracker on the pc. Now everything gets crazy!
The music is getting more distorted and rude as time passes...
The immediate surroundings got annoyed and concerned with what was happening and tried to lower the volume!
But the ottos survived and are now living in a sound proof enviroment. Once in a while they visit some town with a live set or dj-set. Records are being released here and there and ottos can eat.

knifehandchop
19th nov
venue: budha's backyard, albion street glasgow
times: 11-3
price: £6
playing: knifehandchop (tigerbeat6/irritant) + bass invader residents
++guest info++
Knifehandchop is 23 year old Billy Pollard from Toronto, Canada, who has been programming electronic beats since he was 18.
Knifehandchop’s music is hard to describe because of the huge variety of influences and styles he pulls together, although none of these ever seem out of place in the mix. Each release is refreshing and different from the last, largely due to the diverse musical elements he uses; ragga, techno, hardcore, hip-hop and electro all make an appearance. When he plays live, he focuses mostly on the most dancefloor-killing material he has, to try to turn any bar or club into a full-on rave.
Knifehandchop's music is released on vinyl and CD on a variety of labels, although Tigerbeat6 (Oakland, California / http://www.tigerbeat6.com/) and Irritant (London, England/ http://www.irritantrecords.com/) are the most recent, releasing 'Rockstopper' and 'Bling the Noize' respectively. Promotion for the records was a 30-date tour of Europe and Japan in 2003, and a further 23 European shows this past May and June. The first of the two tours saw him stop off to record a Peel Session for BBC Radio One, and he also recently recorded a Breezeblock session for the same station.
The newest Knifehandchop releases are the totally illegal DJ mix split CD with DJ Aneurysm ('Shotgun Wedding vol.2'), a 12” split single with Panacea from Germany ('Street Chic'), and a 12” single called 'Triple Threat' on Tigerbeat6.
Upcoming releases on Tigerbeat6 include the 'Techno-Gaiden' 12" which features remixes from Modeselektor, Com.a, Rotator and Belladonnakillz. The latest Knifehandchop full length CD, 'How I Left You', was just released in August on Tigerbeat6 records in America and on Very Friendly Records in Europe.

playing:Edit(don't/uglyfunk/shed/bernards haircut) + bass invader dj's
+++guest info+++
London based sonic nutcase Edit (not the one from Planet Mu) is continuing to bash away at the boudries of electronica with his comical techno/electro/breaks/nonsense sound, and a large mallet. Upon his recent return from Uglyfunk @The Cross club in Prague, he has been back in the studio investigating further ear bending places. Edit's sound can be found on labels such as Don't, Shed, Victim, and Uglyfunk and has new releses due on Don't and Shed this year, as well as on Coleman's forthcoming label Coin Operated.
Always expect the unexpected.

playing=Jason Leach(subhead/2cb/fix/mercurochrome) + bass invader dj's
++++guest info++++
Jason is one half of legendary techno outfit subhead famed for their 'growth' parties and their off-centre approach to techno. Growth existed in various warehouses around london but the most famous took place in a disused nuclear sub, and featured claude young, si begg and subhead.
Jason now records on his own for labels such as mercurochrome, fix and neue heimat still produces as subhead with phil and is part of the band house of fix.
This will definatly not be boring loopy 4/4 techno.......

bill youngman
30th july 2004

We are very pleased to present Bill Youngman to glasgow for the first time. After seeing him rock tresor in berlin we had to get him over-his live sets simply have to be seen. support from bass invder dj's
+++++ guest info +++++++++
After years of jazz and classical guitar training, Youngman decided in '94 to put the strings aside for a bit of electronic dabbling. Being influenced in instrumental music, drum n bass, hip hop and bleep techno resulted in his take to be coined "electrostep".
In 1995 he met producer John Selway(Serotonin Records) in which he would release his first ep in fact entitled "Electro Step".
This debut ep displayed Youngman's hybrid of drum n bass tempo breakbeat chops with the tonalities and bleeps of classic electro. Youngman started to perform live in New York and released a couple more ep's for Serotonin. In 1998 Youngman met Neil Landstrumm(Scandinavia Records,Tresor) and soon after an exchange of tracks the "zooted" ep was released which contained innovative cuts that well complimented the Scandinavia Sound. "Bad Box" ep followed in '99. Landstrumm and Youngman collaborated on further tracks experimenting with the machines and broken beatboxes. In 2000, Youngmans full length entitled "slightly irregular" displayed a wide variety of sonic sculpting and intensely tweaked percussive break lines. A full length of more downtempo abstract retro space funk under the alias "audible" came in 2002 on DC recordings yet showing a complete extreme to feels and composition style whilst maintaining the electrostep ideals. Youngman and Landstrumm continue to collaborate combining elements of their roots performing a simultaneous live pa ranging from breaks to floor techno with silly freestyle vocals. At the moment, Bill is living in Berlin and backing up his live sound with gigs over Europe. For this artist, recorded material is the platform for expressing mutiple styles and new ideas and in the live situation Youngman takes control, ripping user-friendly classical techno feels and keeping the floor shaking whilst combining a new school freestyle approach to electronics with mic in hand verbalizing throughout. Although known for his live ability to shake any crowd into bits, Youngman has a full plate of collaborations, remixes and record projects (including his own "electrostep" imprint due for early 2005) constantly in the works.......
He has had releases on some of the best techno labels around including tresor, neil landstrumms scandanavia, marcin czubalas currently processing, neue heimat, null, mental industies and many others.
